To get warmed up join in with the road safety dance below. After that why not head outside and set up an obstacle course. There are some ideas below.
Tuesday 2nd March
Can you make your own set of traffic lights today? You could use them in your literacy role play!

Have you noticed it's the 1st of March today? See if you can spot some signs of Spring while you are out and about!
As part of our 'People Who Help Us' topic, this week we are thinking about the lollipop person who helps us to cross the road safely. Mrs Byatt helps us at Langley!
Watch the video below and when you are out and about think about how to cross the road safely.

Wednesday 23rd February
Let's get moving! Can you find an outdoor space and play a game of catch?
Tuesday 23rd February
Today I would like you to draw or paint a picture of someone who helps you. Think about the shapes you will need and the colours to make the person look real!
You can also watch an episode of Biggleton where the children are in charge!
Monday 22nd February
To start our topic off, this week we will be thinking about people who help us at home and in school.
Think about who helps you and what they do. Do you remember to say thank you to them?
Listen to this radio show about people who help us at home.
Friday 12th February
It's nearly Vaalentines day! You could celebrate by making a card or picture for someone you care about. I've also added an episode of Biggleton where they have a teddy bears picnic.
Practise climbing stairs - 1 foot at a time, see if you can do this carrying a small toy.
Gummy Bear Dance
Monday 8th February
Can you practise your cutting skills today? Let's make a teddy bear mask. If you have a paper plate that would be great but a piece of paper will do fine. Try to cut out the different pieces yourself! You can be as imaginative as you want - after all teddy bears don't have to be brown!
Friday 5th February
As we've had such a busy week I thought we could finish the week with a bit of Auntie Mabel and Pippin! Watch how marmalade is made.
Thursday 4th February
In the story there are jammy handprints everywhere! If you have some paint in your house you could try doing some colour mixing using your hands! Paint one hand yellow and the other red - rub them together and see what happens! You could make a print to show me. What happens if you mix other colours together?
Wednesday 3rd February
Let's get moving!
You can do any of the previous action songs that have been posted below.
Can you also practise climbing the stairs one foot at a time? When you are confident at this, see if you can do it holding a small toy - but be careful!
Remember, part of our physical development involves helping with clothing too!
Tuesday 2nd February
Today we are going to make some delicious jam tarts! Watch what happens to the jam when it goes in the oven!
Monday 1st February
As part of our personal, social and emotional development, the children need to be able to recognise how they and other people around them are feeling. Watch the feelings clips on this bbc website and use it to help children explore how they may be feeling.
Friday 29th January
All week we have been thinking about fruit, so how about we make a fruit salad or a fruit kebab so we can eat all that lovely healthy fruit? I've also added a Come Outside video where Pippin and Auntie Mabel find out about apples.
Thursday 28th January
Today we are going to look at the work of another artist who uses fruit - Giuseppe arcimboldo. He uses fruit to make funny faces! I wonder if you can do the same and send me a picture of your work.
Physical Development - Let's get active!
Can you balance on 1 leg ?
Can you hop on 1 leg ?
Watch the video and try to follow some of the balancing
Tuesday 26th January
Let's get arty today!
I've been looking at the artist Denis Wojtkiewicz. He produces some very detailed work using slices of fruit. Today you could try to do the same - slice up an apple or an orange or something a bit more exotic if you have it and spend some time looking really closely at it. Think about what shapes and colours you can see. See if you can carefully draw what you see. Here's a picture of the artist and some examples of his work. Don't forget to send me some pictures!
This week is a very fruity one!
To help your child's understanding of the different types of fruit, watch this video and discuss where fruit comes from and how it grows.
Friday 15th January 2021
Can you make a super veggie? Please look at the example below. As your child makes their super veggie encourage them to talk about how many eyes/arms/feet they are going to put on their veggie? What would it’s superpower be? I would love to hear all about it!
Thursday 14th January 2021
Share Come Outside carrots. Discuss with your child about how vegetables grow - some underground and others on top. Could they draw a picture of some of the vegetables you talk about. I would love to see a photo!
Wednesday 13th January
Wednesday is our PE day in Nursery! If you scroll down the page you will find our Tumble Tots songs we like to dance to and I've added a few more dances for you to try. Remember, if you would rather, you could go outside for a walk, kick a ball in the garden or ask a grown up if you can feed the ducks. Let's get active!
Tuesday 12th January
Let's get creative! If you have some vegetables in your cupboard, ask a grown-up to help you cut them in half. Did you know that you can use vegetables for printing? I wonder what shapes you can make with each vegetable? Can you make a picture? (if you don't have paint in your house, try colouring on the cut vegetable with pen then making a print).
Remember to send us your finished pictures!
Monday 11th January
How many of the vegetables can you name in the story of 'Olivers Vegetables'?
What are your favourite vegetables? I wonder if you can draw a picture and send it to me?

Thursday 7th January 2021
In Nursery today were going to take part in a smell and taste investigation. We were going to smell some fruits with our eyes closed. You could always use a scarf as a blindfold. These are the fruits we were going to use (apple, banana, lemon, orange). It would be lovely if you could try this at home (if you don’t have these fruit don’t worry you can use any fruit/food you have available). Could your child recognise any of the fruits from how they smell? Then let your child try each fruit one at a time- could they recognise them from how they taste. I hope you have fun!!
Wednesday 6th January
Wednesday in Nursery means singing and dancing!
I've put our favourite tumble tots songs on as well as 5 currant buns. Have fun!
