COVID Guidelines and getting support in difficult times

1st, April, 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

COVID Guidelines and getting support in difficult times

COVID Guidelines

As you will know all restrictions about COVID were lifted today. From this point on COVID will be treated as another illness.

The following are the guidelines from the Government;

  • adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature;

  • children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend;

  • adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days

The population now has much stronger protection against COVID-19 than at any other point in the pandemic. This means we can begin to manage the virus like other respiratory infections, thanks to the success of the vaccination programme and access to antivirals, alongside natural immunity and increased scientific and public understanding about how to manage risk.

There is no need to test your child anymore. Should you wish to, and the lateral flow test is positive, please let us know. However, Attendance will not be asking for such evidence and absence will be counted just as a normal absence from now.

Support in difficult times

I know, like staff here, many of you will be concerned about the increase in prices and especially the big increase in energy and food bills. Please remember that you do not need to struggle alone. There is a lot of support out there. If you need some help please feel free to come and see Miss Savage or myself. If you would prefer, you can ring SinglePoint directly on 0121 544 1393. They are great at knowing what is out there and will help you every step of the way.

Yours sincerely,

A James
