What are we doing?

Children in Y3 talked about the sports they like to do depending on the season of the year and also they learnt to  give  instructions when playing football or other sports.

Can we use Spanish instructions in PE ?

Children in Y3 were learning about The torches of Saint Joseph - Las fallas de Valencia which is an amazing festival. We were able to design our own falla and to label the body parts or clothes of our characters.

See this video to learn more about Las Fallas.

The Fallas Festival (Valencia-Spain) (English version)

All about The Fallas Festival of Valencia (Spain) one of the most outstanding fire fiesta in the whole world. Declared in 1965 as Fiesta of International Tourist Interest in Spain and candidate of being declared as a Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

Children talked about their next holidays and used future tense  in Spanish:  En mis vacaciones voy a ir.....They pretended to be interviewed by a journalist from a prestigious magazine after winning a game show and talked about their plans for their future holidays and what they are going to pack into their suitcase.

Welcome back to school !

Children in Langley Primary school are starting to use basic greetings and asking and responding some basic questions in order to be able to manage in a short dialogue with their Spanish friends. Check out some of these videos to refresh their memories....also parents could learn a few words in Spanish!

Good luck!

Children in Y3 have drawn their family  members and labelled them in Spanish. Also, kids could describe some  relatives by using adjectives and some of them even extended their sentences with connectives . e.g:  Mi madre es alta y tambien  delgada.

Today, Y3 labelled body parts of a super heroe and used their dictionaries independently. Also, children now can describe  an alien using numbers, body parts and colours. Perfect if they practise at home this song singing and dancing salsa! Have a go with your kids!

Today learnt to say the food that we liked and dislike and we prepared a picnic for The Croods family who went to Spain for a picnic.

Children in Y3 have learnt to order some food and drinks in a  Spanish restaurant.

They dressed up and paid with euros pretending to be in a restaurant.

Their homework for today is practising their dialogues at home with help of family or friends.

Get ready to go on holidays to Spain!

Children in Y3 used their I-pads to research about typical food in Spain so that they could make their own recipes to practise at home: paella, fabada, tortilla, churros con chocolate, torrijas, gazpacho, etc...

We have compared the stereotypical Egyptian dance to a traditional Spanish dance ( flamenco) by using Venn diagrams and ICT . We found there are similarities and differences between both dances, costumes, music and instruments.

Spanish party end of the year.

Children enjoyed Spanish food, music, dance and games to celebrate our learning during the year and also they learned a bit more about Mexico.

¡Viva la fiesta!

Los animales- The animals.

We looked at the Old  McDonalds' farm and found a variety of animals. Also, we used our dictionaries to find out our favourite  pets. Now, also we can describe our favourite animal and say what they can or can not do.

Children now can use plural, feminine, masculine, negative form and a variety of connectives in their sentences.

Mi animal favorito es in perro. Se llama Muffin, es crema  y negra. Tambien tiene cuatro patas y una nariz. Muffin puede correr pero no puede volar.

( My favourite animal is a dog. It's called Muffin , it's cream and black. Also it has four legs and a nose. Muffin can run but cannot fly.)
