Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
School will be fully re-opening on Monday March 8th. Information will be sent to all families and be available on the website. Please see a letter from the Local Authority about this matter.

School is open for critical worker and vulnerable children tomorrow on Jan 26th. Please remember paper packs should be collected.

Good evening
Due to the weather school will be closed tomorrow. I hope this early decision gives you time to make alternative arrangements for work. Work for all children will be on Google Classroom tomorrow as normal. paper packs should be collected on Tuesday.
Best wishes, Dr James
Dear Parents and Carers
I am sure you will have heard the news that we have entered a new national lockdown from tomorrow and schooling is to return to remote education for all children except those of keyworker children and children considered vulnerable.
This will need a little organisation.
For tomorrow teachers will be putting learning on google classroom for the day and school will be closed to all children just for one day.
During the day I will email out to you further about the arrangements. This is likely to be around 11am so I can finalise plans with my senior staff. From what was said I expect this to be up to at least half term. Please try not to contact the school before I send out the email.
The email will give you information about
1) vulnerable children
2) how to let us know you are a keyworker
3) Google classroom information
4) how to get a laptop if your child needs one
5) free school meals
Iam grateful for your patience and we will have things sorted and ready to go for children who are coming into school from Wednesday.
best wishes
Dr James
Dear Parents and Carers
Well we have reached the final day of the school year. It just remains for me to thank you for the support and flexibility you have shown during this difficult time and to wish you a good Summer Holiday.
I have attached the guidance for September, in case you missed it the first time. To keep everybody safe and well we will need you to keep to the guidance. Especially important will be arriving and collecting your child at the correct time and maintaining social distance whilst you wait. It is really important that we keep the class bubbles of children separate and the start and end of the day is so important for that. Please pay your part in his.
The new risk assessment for September is now on the school website. If you need anything please feel free to ring school or to email myself.
Have a wonderful holiday and keep safe.
Best wishes
Dr James
Dear Parents and Carers
As we reach the half way point of this half term I thought it was time for another update about school.
Numbers have gradually increased in all groups as more children have returned to school. From Monday many year groups will be moving from part time to full time education. This means that we will have very little room to offer further places and will definitely need a week’s notice if you wish your child to return. If you are a keyworker needing to return to work we will try to do this more quickly. From Monday we will have approximately 90 children in school.
The children have continued to be wonderful. There have been no issues with the children respecting the need to social distance and they continue to adapt to sitting at their own table and using only their own equipment. The daily PE lesson is also doing them good and getting them up and moving. This too is socially distanced and a little like having a personal trainer! Most staff also take part. We have had no children or staff with suspected symptoms of Covid-19.
If you are taking the responsibility of home learning please keep going. For those not in school since the end of March, without your help there will be some large learning gaps when we return in September. It is really important we all work together to make sure we can be in a position to catch up when school does re-open.
On the wider picture I have been asked several times about September. Unfortunately we just don’t know yet what the picture will be like. Even if social distancing reduces to 1m we could only have half the children in school at any one time. There is likely to be an announcement about possible summer school/projects from the Government soon but it is uncertain what this will look like or who it will be for.
Thank you again for working with the school at this difficult time and please keep going.
Best wishes and stay well,
Dr James
The document advising families about returning to school and home schooling has been updated. A copy of it can be read at

Good morning
Now that the Government have confirmed that the conditions are right to begin re-opening schools I can confirm that we will be beginning to re-open on Monday June 1st.
If you have let a member of staff know your child is coming you will now have a start time. These are staggered to allow for children to be taught in groups of up to 7 children and to allow social distancing. Please keep to this time. we will be there to greet you.
If you have told us that your child is not coming and wish to change your mind please let us know as soon as possible. After Monday you will need to give a week's notice that you wish your child to attend. The numbers at the moment mean that we can definitely teach your child in a class where the children will be as socially distanced as promised and where the hygiene and cleaning will be thorough.
As you will have seen on the news, if there is an outbreak of the virus in the Sandwell area the lockdown may be started again and schools would be closed. This may happen at short notice.
On the Key Information section of the website I have put the Risk Assessment for you to see if you wish. This takes you through in detail how school will be run.
Finally, please remember if you have other vulnerable members of your family it is important that when your child returns home from school they wash their hands carefully.
Enjoy the weekend and I look forward to seeing you back at school.
Keep well,
Dr James
Help with keeping our children safe.
I have been asked to share two ways to get support with keeping our children safe.
One is a campaign being led by the NSPCC about how to get support if you are worried about a child.
They have asked that I share the following statement;
“For many people things are difficult right now, and that’s why we’re supporting the @NSPCC
who are still here for children who need their support now more than ever. If you’re worried
about a child, please call their helpline on 0808 800 5000 or you can email
help@nspcc.org.uk”.
The second is a website link if you are worried about your child being online or if your child has been approached online by someone. It’s full of practical information about how to make sure your child stays safe online and where to look for help if you are concerned.
